St Matthias', Windermere

Celebrating 175 years

On 24–25 November, St Matthias’ Windermere will celebrate 175 years since completion and the first public worship service.

Including family colonial picnic, oral history, fashions in the 1840s, family reunions of descendants of pioneer church families, City of Launceston RSL Pipes and Drum Band.

Sunday: special services 9am and 2pm celebrating 175 years, refreshments. Music will include the original flute used in the first service, recordings of the first harmonium, the current harmonium and the present rector’s guitar!

All weekend: family history displays at the Dilston Hall.
