Bursting at the seams
A wonderful occasion occurred on Sunday evening 20 December at St Stephen’s Anglican Church in Smithton.
The ‘brain child’ of our Contemporary Worship Team, made up of Jenny and Leighton Poke, Marcus Dixon, Dianne Ferguson and Karen Pyke, saw over 200 people from most denominations in the district stream into St Stephen’s to join in the inaugural programme of carol singing and also to hear items given by the team.
The church, as well as the new multi-purpose room at the rear of the church, were literally bursting at the seams. Items by the team included Jesus, What a Wonderful Child, When a Child is Born, with the youth of the church joining in for Happy Christmas (War is Over) which were greatly enjoyed by all. The team’s rendition of The Holy City as the final item, almost raised the roof.
The final part of the programme was an exceptional supper and fantastic fellowship, where many favourable accolades were heard.
