Seniors Week - Sorell
Gwen Newitt has just retired after 70 years of playing piano at St George's, Sorell.
Delighted audience
As part of Seniors Week, St George's Church, Sorell hosted the Evergreens Singers, who delighted the audience with a broad range of songs ranging from classical through to contemporary styles.
The concert was enthusiastically supported with someone saying the hush surrounding the church during Scarlet Ribbons was like prayer.
For a gold coin donation the ladies guild served a splendid afternoon tea. Any money left over after expenses will go to missions.
Pictured in the audience was Gwen Newitt, who is 96 years old and has just retired from playing the piano for St George's Church in Sorell after 70 years of loyal and graceful service!
