50th Anniversary

On Wednesday, 24 June, the St George’s Women’s Fellowship group at Burnie celebrated its 50th anniversary. The president, Mrs Barbara Archer, welcomed 26 members and guests, including seven inaugural members.
The evening began with the Eucharist, followed by a short business meeting, then entertainment, fellowship and supper. A celebration cake was cut by the foundation members, and a very pleasant time was spent renewing old friendships and recalling the many memories gathered over 50 years.
The group continues to support Anglicare, Hospice, missions, button days, knitting bootees for new babies at the hospital, and Christmas shoe boxes.
