Shrek meets python
On Sunday 14 October we held our first Pets' Afternoon at Holy Trinity in Ulverstone. It was planned for the Donkeys to visit, but the Equine Influenza scare and lockdown put paid to that.
Getting help with the singing
However, we had around 140 people, and 40 live pets (as well as some fluffy toys and a stuffed owl) attend. And among the pandemonium of barking and howling dogs and a squealing pig, there was also lots of laughter and fun.Ü
After a brief service in church, with thanksgiving for pets and a certificate of attendance, we moved to the afternoon's other fun activities.Ü These inclded a jumping castle (unfortunately no Donkey rides), fairy floss, toffee apples, giant bubbles, afternoon tea, live musician, a visiting python and ferret late in the day, Sunflower the clown from Poatina, and even a return appearance of Shrek.Ü
Jesus All About Life Balloons were given out, and around 10 of the JAAL booklets were taken.ÜEveryone had lots of fun, celebrating life in Jesus, and the enriching gift of our pets in our lives.
