Bishop and Registrar both gain diploma on the same day

John Harrower surprised by staff who have just learnt about his new qualification
On 4 October 2007 staff at Church House were surprised to find their boss had gained a diploma from the Australian Institute of Company Directors. Bishop John is now a Graduate of the Institute - GAICD. So his doorway was blocked with signs and purple streamers and the staff awaited his arrival at the office. Moments before he arrived they discovered that Russell Morton the Registrar had also earned the same qualification on the same day! Woops. So the sign was quickly amended and congratulations went all round.
Bishop John is a director of World Vision and in that capacity studied for the qualification. Both he and Russell hope that what they have learnt will add to the good governance and management of the diocese.
